How we are responding
In response to the ongoing crisis in Ukraine, teams of volunteers consisting mostly of local Ukrainians, have been able to respond quickly and effectively in constantly changing conditions to bring relief in areas needing urgent help. We have been deeply invested in Ukraine prior to the war and have relationships with regional communities throughout the country, allowing us to locate the needs and collaborate with partners to ensure help is brought where it is needed most.
Who we are
Before February 24, 2022, many of us were in different cities and enjoying life and working in various spheres. Some were in business, tech, and media, some were students completing their degrees, and others were missionaries, pastors, and even chaplains. On the morning of the 24th, all our lives were drastically hit when Russia attacked Ukraine and began to invade its neighboring country with full military force. A war many couldn’t have ever imagined happening began. As people fled west, a remarkable show of camaraderie took place as those who arrived to our refugee center began volunteering to meet the catastrophic surge of needs. Organizations, churches, and government entities began to indiscriminately work together to help their country. Our efforts expanded to other cities, including on the eastern fronts, as volunteers from different nations arrived. Since day one, we have been mobilizing aid and rescue efforts in constantly evolving and unpredictable conditions, and by the grace of God will continue to do so
Our DNA
Awakened Generation was founded in 2016 out of a holy desire for a generation to be awakened into a missional movement. Our mission is to raise up missional communities who gather around the Presence of God, are transformed into the image of Christ, and are sent to transform the community around them through the power of the Spirit and the proclamation of the Gospel, to reach the nations and prepare the world for Jesus’ appearance.
